i ran a 4.57'd on the hwy, put about a full car on him from 70-115 or so.

you just cant win shifting that slow..........

That was a close race, I give props to the S2K for hanging.

I wanna slap the EVO owner for putting just a DP as his first friggin mod.....

WTF is he thinking? Must be a newbie ha ha.....

If the EVO just did a minimim of Test-Pipe (less than $100) and 3" exhaust (less than $500 for a used one), and a MBC (about $100) at 22-23 PSI it would have been lights out for the S2K....

I ran a modded Yellow S2k on the highway a few months ago, when my untuned 05 EVO only had EBC set at 23 PSI, Espelir 2.75" DP, 3" TP, and 3" JIC spartan exhaust, with 2 other big guys in the car, and smoked the guy by a football field length (yes I'm exaggerating but you get my point), even as he tried to do a WOT flyby.....

so basically he was picking on me, getting onto the highway I see some HID's in my rearview mirror and heard what sounded like a VTEC motor screaming VTAK so I was like c'mon and git me.... and thats what he did. He went WOT and tried to pass me on the middle lane.... as his car pulled alongside my rear 1/4 panel, is when I downshifted to my optimal acceleration gear floored it and left him in the dust...

anyway sorry to ramble.... but props to the S2K in the video...

sounds wierd, but yes actually. i am in daily contact with oliver simmons at WORKS, and i am sure we can build a cosworth package to suit your needs.

uhm. FYI.
the evo that i ran consistently. (im talking 100+ runs) from digs and rolls.
was an 05 evo 8, with;
larger front mount/tubular exh manifold/megan outlet(worked by us)/ megan 3 inch DP/megan 3 inch all the way back with no cat/dynoflash'd/ stage 2 clutch/turbo XS manual BC 2 stage. at 20 psi, it was close, with the nod to me, at 23 psi, it was closer, with the nod going to him. and i mean, when wed dig, at 120, my nose would be at his front door handle. if we roll, its anybodys race, depending on gear started from. so dont tell me that those lame mods you mentioned, will make an evo8 pull on an s2k. maybe an ap1, but not on my car.
and im still blowing through stock mufflers. later dave

are you SC'd or turbo'd? That would change the ballgame a whole lot. You do have the weight advantage though....

The race that I ran back then was against a well moddled N/A S2K. With a turbo'd S2K it would have been a more interesting race.

I dont know my engine or chassis codes, but whats an AP1?

and I'm not gonna argue here, what are your mods?

anyhow, in my personal car I'm at ~500 AWHP and 433.XX tq and am far beyond the power levels I was at when I was on the stock turbo, TBE and, EBC

Dave,you must be the 1st NA S into the 12's cause I ran a 12.90 at 106 on my 05 evo 8 with a dynoflash and catless TBE (with crappy factory DP on). And that was my 1st time anywhere near a dragstrip and with 21 psi tapering to 19 psi and a poor 1.9 60'.

If you were racing me from a dig Id wager, you'd be further back than at my door handle

Still, perhaps the evos dont run too well at the altitude'heat of Vegas..

a exhuasted(TBE) MBC evo is no joke.

i havent posted my latest dyno. things are still in the works. ill let you know where you stand in a week or so. and this time, we may have film of the dyno. since last time, there were HUGE arguements about how much power i made. its gonna be on the same dyno, and im gonna tell him. no correction, just straight las vegas HP. not what it MIGHT be at sea level. it was no correct last time, but the supposed dyno gurus argued. we shall see. later dave
