Default Dyno results - Buddy club Pro Spec

OK guys, just came back from another session at the dyno to test the Buddy club dual Pro Spec exhaust (pics of the exhaust will be up tomorrow).

Car is a 1999 S2000 with 50,000kms (just bought it a week ago). Only modification is an Injen CAI (which was put on 2 days ago).

Here's a before and after dyno test performed in shootout mode on IS Motor Racing's dyno tonight.

I suspect exhausts have to bed in and potentially more gain would be had if we dyno tested again in a few weeks. Although some people are very particular about dyno reading accuracy, and would prefer to see dyno test performed at the same time on the same day, from feedback I have gotten from IS Motor Racing, you could put a car on their dyno now and 6 months later and only get 1kw difference. In any case, this dyno test was done at the same time.

Looks like it's running richer down low.

Reckon there'd be more gains to be had if you could change the A/F ratio's?

Yeah we noticed that the A/F went a little crazy. But the test was a simple bolt on test, IE: no tuning was performed. Pics and a review (it's damn loud lol) will come tomorrow.

I have gotten from IS Motor Racing, you could put a car on their dyno now and 6 months later and only get 1kw difference.

That's a tall claim. If it was within 10kW, then I'd already be impressed. Heck I'd be impressed if it was within 5kW between taking the car off the dyno, and putting it back on.

A difference in wheel alignment, age of tyres, and tyre pressures can yeald differences of 20kW in a dyno reading.

ps. Thanks for the dyno plots.

NP DavidM, happy to give back (I've done hours of research on these forums).

OK here's a combined readout:

im guessing environmental factors such as seasons would make huge differneces as well, so i dont really buy it, but thats a good gain, well a gain nonetheless

Shootout mode is supposed to compensate for changes in the environment. Air temp (intake and surrounding), etc. etc..

At a dyno day once, a friend of mine asked my tuner to make sure she beat me. All he did was make sure the intake air temp sensor was near something hot. She then made 500+rwkw....

Amazing results there although there are factors that can change dyno numbers.

Nonetheless great result , Thanks for sharing.

Is it single 70mm catback?

The Buddyclub Pro Spec is a dual exhaust I'm pretty sure, I have seen them on Euro Accords but never on the s2k, post up your pics!!!

I have the BC Spec IV exhaust btw! Not really happy about the quality or design but it does what I want it to do most of the time nevertheless...

Yes it's a dual and yes there are environmental differences but as Wilch mentioned this test was done in shootout which does compensate for different temperatures for different days.

I am sorry to confuse people with that bit of news on dyno testing on different days, perhaps best left for another discussion on another thread. But in this case, above, the dyno tests above were done on the same dyno machine, same car, same day, simply a before and after run on the exhaust and no other modification (same fuel, same tyres).
