For those of you interested in the use of the rinseless washes (ProtectAll and Optimum are the two I am familiar with) I thought I would start a new thread.

I originally used the ProtectAll Quick and Easy Wash (QEW) to wash the cars in the winter. I have since gotten to the point where it is how I wash all but the dirtiest of vehicles. If used properly, you will not get any marring. A side benefit is that you get less water in the body lines to drip out on you later.

As for the use, here is my general procedure.

Materials
(2) Buckets with Grit Guard or Similar
(1) Quick and Easy Wash
(1) Quick Detailer of your choice
(1) Plush Microfiber Towel (DMT, Pak Shak, etc.)
(1-2) Waffle Weave Microfiber Towels

Notes
I recommend doing this in the shade. It can be done in moderate sun but you will need to dry each panel individually. Furthermore, this process is good for moderately dirty cars. If you have mud, all bets are off. If you think your car is a tad dirtier than average, increase the QEW concentration by an ounce.

Procedure
To start, fill each of the two buckets with about 2 gallons of warm water. Add 2-3 oz of QEW and 3-4 sprays of the QEW to one bucket. Stick your hand in the bucket and mix it around. It will not really foam up and that is normal. This bucket is now your wash bucket. The untouched bucket is the rinse bucket.

Dip the microfiber cloth in the bucket and then slightly wring it out. The cloth should be just slightly dripping wet. If in doubt, too wet is not a problem. Make passes front to back on the hood, roof, and trunk and then up to down on the sides. With each pass refold the towel such that the paint is seeing a fresh portion of the towel. When you cannot fold it anymore, put it in the rinse bucket and wring it out a few times to clean it. After cleaning, it goes back into the wash bucket and the procedure begins again.

On a car the size of the S, I usually wash the car in three sections: front, middle, and the back. I will wash and entire section before drying.

To try, use your handy dandy waffle weave and follow the same direction as used with the wash. The S is small enough that it can typically be dried with a single 24x36 waffle weave.

Once complete, the QEW wash bucket can also be used on the wheels.

He keeps referring to birdsh_t over and over! Had me laugh out loud here.
Looks like an interesting product, I am going to try it out with the layers of dust that I get on on the car, perhaps after the rain mixes with the dust and leaves the nastiness.
