I got an 2005 Honda S2k with 22k miles and i was thinking of selling it to get a 2005 Nissan 350z with equal mileage. I need personal oppinions on reliability, resell value and which one looks better cause i like both.

Um, I think the 350Z is more reliable, sells for more, and looks better... You do know this is an S2000 forum, don't you? The 350Z may be more reliable if you are a sloppy shifter (4-->2 money shift) and you like to street race. It will sell for more if you "spin out the S2000 on black ice / leaves / gravel" and are left with a frame-damaged S2000. And looks... well, that's purely subjective. --------------------

He didn't say the Z was more reliable. He was asking about its reliability, etc.
Personally, if you'd like to try the Z for a change, go for it. You've already experienced the S. Both cars are different, but sometimes, change is not so bad. I haven't heard too much bad stuff about the Z's reliability. Resale value is okay; the look is pretty good, imo. -------------------- Save a life or two with just pennies a day! Where do you live and are you a guido? If the answer is the Northeast and yes....go trade the S in for a Z.

Nooooooo, don't do it. The s2000 is really something special. Go take it on a drive in the country with the top down. You'll keep it.

keep the S unless ur going for a later 07+ Z there's a chance u will get one of the oil burning 05's (track and 35th aniv) and large number of 06's with the VQ35de rev up engine. lest u want to add a quart of oil every 1-2k, i'd pass...not to mention personally i find it a downgrade (that's coming from a nissan loyalist).

I think the only REAL downside to the Z is its resale. other than that, if going from one two seater to another is your thing then go for it.

PWNED in a lie!!! this is the best post on there: "I do like the high revving capacity, but the downfall of the 11.5.1 compression not allowing it to really respond to boost well - didn't comptech try a supercharger on it and they kept blowing up - at least Honda'tech showed a lot of them getting hurt badly..." wow. |

O.k....I cross shopped the 350 Z against my S2000. The reasons that I chose the S2000 are as follows: (1) cheapish interior on the 350Z; (2) balking shifter and catchy clutch engagement which makes the S2000 easier to drive; (3) better sounding exhaust note on the S2000; (4) very poor interior storage space on the 350 Z--the crossbar in the back takes up all useful storage space--so much so that it is difficult to go on a long weekend trip in the 350 Z.
I actually think the S2000 is a more timeless design than the 350 Z, but that is a totally subjective assessment. -------------------- There ain't no sin and there ain't no virtue. Nissan has a great racing heritage and there are a lot of upgrades available to enhance the owner experience.
I only wish they had not bloated the 350Z; it reminds me of a Japanese version of the Camaro. I love the 70's 240Z's however --------------------

I agree. The gauge cluster is the one piece of cabin electronics worth keeping. The stereo / speakers on the other hand..... --------------------
