If you have the Greddy kit and have had problems, please post them here. We should compile these issues and then when solutions are found we can compile those here also.
This is NOT a bash Greddy thread. Please don't post your opinions here if you don't have the kit. This is a reference for those who buy the kit and those of us who are planning to buy the kit. -------------------- ![]() |

I have the ap2 kit, but it's not installed yet. I noticed some missing parts (nothing that significant). I've noticed others have had something missing also.

Here's how mine went:
-the kit was missing a piece of 3/4" hose for the IAC. I bought 2' at NAPA for $3. -I have an upgraded stereo and could not weasel the Emanage cables over to the passenger side of the car. Ok-I mounted the Emanage in the dash just above where your left knee is (but up inside of the dash). I used some foam weatherstripping and tie wraps - can't see the unit. -no problem with installing the new fuel pump filter because I rotated the pump within the plastic holder in order to turn the filter clockwise. -no issues with installing the FMIC or piping - lots of clearance -Need to buy the fuel rail seal/washers (hondaautomotiveparts.com) for $4 ? -bought a set of NGK copper plugs one step colder of course -the donut washer for the downpipe-to-cat comes with the kit -I re-used the header gasket. -piece of cake -------------------- small turbo 331WHP 219TQ Dynojet and a magical 348 dynapak WHP remote mount Precision 5857 billet DBB .82 A/R turbo in the works . . . look at all that space in the back. |

i bought mine for 3900 out the door, but i would buy it from invision and pick it up. They told me after i had bought mine that they were selling the kits for 3800. And I am getting my kit installed at XS-engineering in Garden Grove. I was going to take it to Autowave but I didn't really like the vibe I got from them. Anyways, I should be getting the car back by wednesday morning or even tomorrow afternoon.

Invision is a site sponsor, should be no problem finding their #, and XS's number is 714.554.7474 ask for Troy. I wouldn't call till after SEMA though b/c they are very busy right now. Also, wait and see if I have any problems with my install b4 you take your car there. So far I don't like their customer service. I am picking up my car at noon tomorrow. Will post details tomorrow. Also, what plugs are you guys running? Part #'s? how bout these? http://www.ngk.com/results_app.asp?AAIA=1430227 This post has been edited by brilliant on Oct 23 2007, 10:14 PM |

I have the greddy turbo with the included emanage ultimate, and I'm very disappointed with the way my car is behaving once I hit vtec or go WOT suddenly. If I slowly roll into the throttle its not so bad, but any hard acceleration will cause the car to sputter and even backfire. It still makes the topend power I expect, but its a very, very jerky ride getting there. The crazy curve I see on the dyno is pretty much what I feel when getting on it hard. My tuner blames the emanage, and says he doesn't think its safe to try and take any more gas out of the higher rev ranges. I have seen several dyno charts of otherwise stock S2Ks running the greddy and their curves are so much smoother than mine. All else being equal, I 'think" there is something up with my emanage or the harness, but it will be a few days before I can get it checked out.
I was at summit point on Monday, and the car exhibited all the symptoms I have encountered on the street. For the second time, under WOT in 3rd gear all power vanished and the check engine light came on and a large cloud of white smoke came out of my exhaust for about 30 seconds. I pulled it off the track and it promptly stalled. I waited a minute and it restarted with no problem. No CEL and no smoke. It was like I had imagined the whole shutoff incident. The car then ran like 'normal', meaning lots of sputtering, jerking and backfire until my 4th session on the track. It was then a huge gout of flame was seen coming from my left exhaust tip. Right after that, I got up to 5 bars on the temp gauge, and lost half of my horsepower as the car went into safe mode. Since I was now being nearly run over on the track, I called it a day and pulled off into the pits. The car almost immediately cooled down and the power came back. I have been keeping it under vtec and have been babying the throttle for the last 2 days until I can figure out what the heck is wrong with my setup. I called Greddy and they asked me to make sure the sticker on my ultimate says AP1 and not AP2. It was an AP1 sticker. He then told me that I "might" have an AP2 harness on there but I don't know how to check it myself, so I'm going to take it back to the tuner this week and try to get him and the greddy tech on the same page. I also intend to call them back shortly and have them talk me through the harness check. My car is totally stock except for the exhaust and gears. Its an Ultimate Racing Dual catback and I also have their matching CAT. I still have the stock spark plugs, but Greddy and my tuner don't think that alone would cause all the vtec/WOT craziness I have been getting. Below VTEC, everything is smooth and the car runs like a champ. You would never know anything is wrong until you stomp the throttle suddenly. The car makes more hp below vtec than it did at WOT before I put the turbo on, so its quite drivable wihout using vtec, but that's not what I paid for. Any ideas or opinions would be welcome. |
