Good reason to replace the cabin filter

Default Good reason to replace the cabin filter
I replaced the cabin air filter today on my '06 -- 2 years after taking delivery. I have 16k on her, and drive > 50% of the time top down. Just look at the photos - the old one looked even more gross up close and personal. BTW, it is a 10 minute job, including being extra careful/

I change that filter every year regardless of miles, or every 12k miles.

replaced mine as well, looked similar (leaves, etc). Don't wanna be breathing all that crud in.

Well, that's the point of the filter, it traps "all that crud" so that you don't have to breath it in .

I replace my filoter every year or two also.

I just go by air flow with no fan on through the upper vents when driving 40-50 MPH. If it's not flowing well enough then replace it. It won't filter any less because it has dirt on it.

I think I'll go do my BMW as it has 113K and I never changed the filter.
