Trunk Rack for S2k
Hi guys, I have just bough a new S2K, and i want to order a trunk rack.
I am willing to pay for a good one, obviously that is easy to install and does not mark the paint....
Any feedback would be great...
Also as an aside, i live in Canada, so if you knew of a Canadian source, that would be great, but i don't mid any recommendations
Thanks!

I spent a LONG LONG time trying to decide on one. Unfortunately, it appears that there are really none that don't rest on trunk with a good amount of force. People have put soft towels where the contact areas are.
Basically, to be totally free of contact with your paint, is to get a hitch mount (which means you need a hitch as well). The Chase Race one (~$420) seems to be the best according to opinions here.
Luckily, just a couple of days ago, I resurrected my daily driver that has a Thule roof rack. It's been sitting for over a year, and I spent over $2000 getting it running again. But at least yesterday was my first day out on my bikes! w00h00!

The luggage trunk rack on the white S2K in front of me near Lake Tahoe during 2006 Sac2K Days looked pretty good; unfortunately, I do not know what kind it is.

I had one of these racks for my Miatas. It's a quality product, all stainless steel but, it does leave marks on the trunk lid.
Each foot is secured by an allen wrench. If you tighten just a little too tight, it will leave an impression. If you don't tighten it tight enough, you run the risk of it shifting. I used this rack for years and decided that the need for a luggage rack outweighed the marks it left on the trunk lid.
It wasn't the weight that I put on the rack, it is the "feet" themselves and the way it tightens. It's a very secure rack when tightened, but you'll leave a mark (dent)!
