So I was driving to the gym and got to an intersection that was closed off. Had two choices, make a U-turn and go in a different direction or wait it out.

I decided to do what everyone else is doing, make a U-turn. So I back up slightly to create enough of a gap with the truck in front of me, but apparently the truck driver thought I wasnt there anymore so he backed up into to me.

We exchange info and now I have to wait for a call from my insurance agent. Since the truck driver was a cop, he knew all the procedures which made things go faster. here are some pics.

That's so minor. New bumper, headlight, fender and you're set.

$1000 for a new pass side headlamp, $500 for body and paint work, assuming no damage to bumper tabs near the headlight. You can't replace just the headlamp lense...have to replace the entire unit!

New headlamp costs $800 from Honda...plus labor...shops will milk the insurance for $1,000. biggrin.gif Hell, the single S2000 projector alone is worth $150 by itself.

That doesnt look too bad, you can probally get a check from insurance and then get the parts from members and pocket the extra money. Good luck with everything.

When you replace the broken headlight, you should sell the projector from the old unit. Doesn't look like it's damaged at all, only the plastic cover... perfect for somebody who wants to put HIDs in their car.

Since it is not your fault I would tell the body shop that you want all new OEM parts for everything that was damaged. You have to be specific with them or else they try to put cheap after market parts on your ride. It looks like you need a new headlight unit and fender. In my experiences (And I have had many!) most shops would replace the fender as opposed to trying to fix it because it would take to much time/labor. I am not sure what they would do with the front bumper...it would not hurt to say you want a new one IMO. Good luck Bro!

The most expensive part would be the HID head lights. You're lucky he didn't ram you hard and damage your frame lol

They could almost place the fault on him for "following too close". Sorry if this rains on your parade. The yellow does look good in the sun though.

Did he have a trailer hitch or somethin?

You should look into the LED headlights that some company is selling - it was $995 for the pair, but i don't know if you have to trade in your lights for it - they were sick, but I can't find the link now...

If they do replace the fender make sure that you have them change over the VIN tag from the old fender to the new one.

it's gonna cost around $2000 or so. the headlight alone is going to be $800. also, I'd get a new fender....you want them to paint your hood as well...you want to blend the color in.

Did you read what the op put? The truck BACKED into him. Sounds like the trucks fault to me.

did you want to 'upgrade' to a different front lip? now's a good time. put the insurance check towards it and it's partly subsidized.
