Check Engine Light MisFires Please Help!
Hello,
I'm having a bad problem with my 2001 Honda s2000.. The Check Engine light....
Codes are always misfires on random plugs.. Sometimes 1 sometime 3 and then sometimes the other 2...
It has been at the shop a 95% of last month... They replaced spark plugs that Honda sent them for that car.. $210.00...
They a day after that then the check engine light came back on again..
Then they replaced the Fuel Filter (Another $200)
2 days after I got it back the check engine light came on again... Took it back and then this time they said they had a couple people from honda look at it..
First they said it was the fuel pump but after testing they said it's not
They said it could be the air pump (relay).... $600+
Can that really cause misfires?
Also when the AC is on it really drives poorly. The car shakes a lot!
Please help,
Thank you

I have a thread in this section for a PO302 code for mis fire for cyclinder #2. Honda did a valve adjustment, 4 new coils, plugs, compression test, leak down test, drain my gas tank, fuel filter, fuel pump and finally today the injectors. They said the injectors was the problem and the car is finally fine now. I pick it up tomorrow so we'll finally see if they're right. Good luck and keep us posted

Nope.
The air pump is only there to add extra air into the exhaust ports at cold start. this warms the catalytic converter up quickly to reduce cold start emissions.
It's one of the few emission systems that can't cause a misfire.

Thank You for the quick reply..
Do you have any idea what would make random misfires over all the cyl?
When AC is on it runs really really bad... (Car Shakes)
Idles rough..
Every time the check engine light came on it was right within 30 seconds that I turned on the car.
They replaced spark plugs, Fuel Filter, Clean the Injectors
They said they don't think it would b the injectors since it's always different cyl...
