I park my Fit on the street in my neighborhood (Fitler Square, just a few blocks southwest of Rittenhouse). When the dog and I were taking a walk this morning, I discovered that the Fit was jacked up on the driver side, laying on the axle/rotors on the right side missing all 4 wheels. The car was not broken into. They took the 15" Honda Alloys and made a run for it.

This job had to have several people involved. They left the 4 jacks, 2 tire irons and lug nuts on the scene. It was on 25th and Lombard, a busy street that leads to the South Street Bridge. It happened right in front of the Philadelphia School.

This is the best part. When talking to the service manager at the Honda dealer by the airport, he just got done a job on a girl's Fit who had the same thing happen to her. He said the wheels showed up on craigslist a few days after.

I am pissed. I mean, the Fit???

The police officer could not believe it.

Why this is now a trend, I can't understand.

And I feel that two identical incidents within 3 weeks of each other on the exact same car in the same neighborhood, constitutes a trend.

Time to set up a trap.

This doesn't make sense... using 4 jacks and leaving them at the scene... jacks aren't that cheap are they?

no that one jack looks alright, Hydrolic? I would keep that one.

think about investing in some wheel lock lug nuts, this should help weed out the desperate ones.

My car is parked in Washington Sq. in one of the garages, and I feel like I need to upgrade to some wheel locks myself.

sorry to see this happen to you man, atleast it wasnt the S!

I forgot to say that the Honda Wheel Locks were on the Fit. No lie. They mst have had several Honda wheel lock keys. They took the wheel locks too and left the regular lugs on the ground.

The hydraulic jack was from the tow truck driver.

i beleive there are something like 15 different designs for the pattern in the wheel lock, if they have all of the keys they can get any honda wheel lock off. On a side note, there are wheel lock removers you can get from sears for like $40 and if the lugs are torqed to spec, they can be taken off very easily with the sears wheel lock remover. Had to do this on JJ's S2K when i was doing his springs and it was way too easy.

The wheels are very popular for older civics/integras. That's most likely why there's a demand on them causing the theft..
