I saw this advertised in a magazine and found out my uncle has this on all of his cars, and he said he noticed a difference. He has a Jeep, a built 68 camaro, and a duramax diesel truck. Just curious if it would do anything for our cars, the way it works makes a little bit off sense. Probably going to get burned bad for this one! |

I remember hearing someone putting one on a civic as a joke then hooked up a fader switch to it so as the engine rpm increased so did volts to the unit itself.

Here we go....again
Advice from the pros! Get the turbonator http://www.turbonator.com/ TOGETHER with dads leafblower and you will have a sick setup. Ignore the NOS in the video, that shit is for noobs. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Leaf-Bl...n-Dyno_7514.htm Don't forget a real tune and 1600cc injectors to supply the beast. On a serious note, small electric fans are not built to make pressure, they just move air. Sure an electric supercharger can work if the electric motor is big enough and the blower designed for it (but then we talk BIG, nothing that would fit under the hood together with the engine), but those things marketed as good solutions are just a way to fraud people that don't know basic physics. There have been companies that tried to couple a motor to a real compressor but the HP requried for the compression can be as much as 50-100hp.
As far as the leaf blow is concerned it will help over come the losses associated in the air intake system but a CIA will do the same thing. -------------------- Jack Of All Trades and Master Of None Inline Pro Build with 5965B-B, AEM, Asura..... It did ALOT more as soon as they added the NOS, with just the leafblower it wasn't that spectacular.

This was discussed years ago. It may actually inhibit flow at the top end casuing a loss in power.
And you would be the joke of the town.

Yep, the leaf blower as silly as it is, is still producing FI, how much is hard to say, by the gains shown it would appear to be about 1-2 psi. A CAI still relies on engine vacume, so there is no forced presurization, only less restrictive breathing which is still reliant on what the engine can draw in under its own mechanical limitaion. |
