Hey, I am currently looking into buying a Comptech or Vortech supercharger. I am aware that you are able to upgrade the pulley for more horsepower, but since you are at a set amount of boost you are able to push, how are these guys pushing over 400whp with a supercharger? What I am asking is what kind of mods would be needed to do so besides increased fuel to the engine, a reinforced back end and an EMS?

You can upgrade the Trim will net you more HP
You will need bigger injectors, heavy duty clutch/PP, EMS and fuel pump This post has been edited by iDomN8U on Mar 14 2009, 12:10 PM

i'd say a thicker head gasket, smaller pulley, larger injectors, a standalone engine management, upgraded clutch. of course, either an intercooler or aftercooler as well. you should have an upgraded fuel pump from the start as well. you could get a puddydifferential for it be solid but you can also just run with stock or slightly upgrade with a comptech reinforcement.

That is pretty close to 474.9 rwhp. You want 400 rwhp you need to spin the blower faster, get an AEM EMS, 750cc injectors, a good tuner and raise the redline. Head work, headers and a 3 inch exhaust will make it easier to get there. -------------------- Dark Sideways It is better to make torque at high rpm than at low rpm when you can take advantage of gearing. 284.3 ft lbs of torque at 9400 rpm Current Dyno Playing with the big boys Joe ALANIZ is a thief

just finished a comptech upgrade, head gasket, little head work, smaller pulley, 750 cc inj, aem, much larger radiator for air to water, bigger pump, 400hp at wheels was no problem.

I'm going to say head work is mandatory for 400+ with SC. You'll definitely need a new map sensor as well.

So what is the max from a Vortex. Comptech SC kit without going to a headgasket or needing head work or anything. Just upgrading to an Emanage ultimate and injectors etc? 375whp easily accomplished or still too high?

Im on my way up to 350+ here soon. What kind of head work are you talking about? valves, springs, and retainers, or just a head gasket? Both? -------------------- VTSC W/AC 305rwhp tuned on AEM EMS ACT HD Clutch and LW Flywheel! 12.5lb boost pulley, 725cc ID injectors, SOS MAP sensor and retune soon. Stock head gasket with after market CP pistons, Pauter rods for low compression. The headwork can divided into two catagories: 1. Lightening the valve train, better springs, lighter valves and retainers. This allows you to spin faster. 2. Enlarging the passages and bowls (porting) and going with larger valves to increase flow thus horsepower. |

Sideways. Did you put different sleeves in your engine? Everybody talks about how the stock sleevs cannot accept aftermarket pistons...
I just dropped my car off at King Motorsports to get tuned with 3.2 pulley on a 100% stock F20C1 in MY01. I have RC 650cc's and NGK plugs, alogn with the UR FMIC and 3 inch headerback no cat. Ill post results when they come --------------------

that is awesome. I think SOS track car does not have sleeves...thats why I am starting to think you do not have to install better sleeves. Although I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone |
