Great news! Trust has completed reorganization in Japan. I know great things will come from this--glad they'll still be around to help support the JDM industry. smile.gif Last TAS they debuted a few new parts for the s2000, hopefully those parts and more are released....the more selection the better for us enthusiasts, especially when they come from a legit company like Trust. thumbsup.gif

Trust/Greddy used to be a great company, but now their parts are nothing special at all. This company filing bankruptcy meant nothing to me and I wouldn't have missed them at all. I wish them luck for the future.

That's fine. you have your opinion and i respect that.

While i agree, they could have done products better in recent times, i would definitely miss them and it would definitely affect the aftermarket industry. I respect who they are, where they came from and what they did for the industry. They are one of the originals, without them, who knows what wouldn't be today? They were one of the firsts to create bolt on Honda turbo kits for example, during the times when people had to piece kits together and do custom parts to get what they wanted. People take the market today for granted, all parts are available and ready for purchase, no one has to do any real work to mod their car.

It's competition in a market that fuels new ideas and innovation, back in the day, there were only so many companies and Trust/Greddy was one of them, helping the industry that we all know and love, grow into what it is today.

I'm glad they are done reorganizing and i'm actually REALLY excited for their future. Reorganization of course, meant all new executives. The old execs were responsible for approving/denying the products, so since they're gone, hopefully they'll have new execs with new visions and hopes for the company. As for the US side, I already know the Greddy based managers and execs have a new vision for the company and plan to change things up quite a bit. The US side hasn't changed hands, but with new executives at Trust, comes new opportunity for change which was previously denied. So i'm pretty sure good things will come out of this, along with new and innovative product, which is why i for one, am happy that they have made it! thumbsup.gif

Also it's good to have a JDM company that fills this niche in the market. That is, creating a range of parts for a range of applications. Most companies now are platform based, meaning they focus on a certain vehicle or make: as in Mugen = Honda, ASM = S2k/Z, J's = Honda, etc.

It used to be HKS, Apex'i and GReddy that were competitors, and still i don't know of any JDM company that is competing in this segment, doing it as big as they did/are. There are a bunch of US based companies that are trying to do it, like Megan racing for example, but Megan racing?! lol this another reason why i'm thankful Trust will still be around and another reason to support the JDM companies. If they all disappear, we'll be left with Megan racing and the million other china/taiwan clones. Need i say it? That wouldn't be good!

Just food for thought. I liked how Bulletproof sparked discussion about ASM and Amuse, which is why i created this thread. Also wanted to let people know what's going on, since so many people though Trust/Greddy shut down completely.

The only thing I think Greddy actually does well is provide CARB exempt turbo kits and exhaust to actually keep vehicles legal at a justified cost. Back in the day though they were a great tuner for all the turbo platforms. Greddy was all you heard about or saw.

Again i agree with you, they were at the top for many turbo apps like 240s/silvias/GTRs/Supras/RX7/300ZX, but they have fallen behind in recent times. Among other things, I believe it to be their huge variety of parts--it's their "total tune up" slogan--that put them behind. They wanted to make many parts for many applications. But i believe part of their future plan is to cut many extraneous products from their lineup and focus on the core parts, which should result in better, higher quality parts.

I have enjoyed my Trust TiR exhaust over the past couple years. while trust may not be at the level of a ASM or Amuse tuning company, I can appreciate there ability to offer an exceptional product at a very resonable price. I agree with Chris, Trust/Greddys innovation and support have helped the tuning culture thrive stateside.

I wish they would have an upgrade for their turbo kit. I think the kit AT LEAST should let you get 400 to the wheels thumbsup.gif

But I'm glad they're not going under, they have a soft spot in my heart, I've use to start at my trust exhaust in the late 90's thumbsup.gif Didn't have their turbo kit cause DRAG made more power lol.gif
