Lots of choices out there! Just comes down to brand preference and cost.

Carillo, Manley, Pauter, Oliver, IP, K1...

I recently visited the Cunningham Rods factory. They do S2000 rods.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to differentiate between rod manufacturers other than what some guy said.

There are several options out there worth considering, and a few I won't get into.

We have used Arrow, Pauter, Carrillo, and Cunningham on previous builds.

The Pauter rods are a great value, readily available and proven. Laskey swears by them, so you know they are a quality piece. We run these on the spec road race motors. They are ~$200/rod, a bit more in Titanium.

Carrillo have always made an excellent rod. As a company, they are now owned by CP/Pankl Group. They still operate out of and independent facility. They are pricier at ~$300/rod.

Cunningham also makes a high quality rod. Typically they are 8-12 weeks out if not in stock. They don't care who you are or what you use them for; there is no expedite. And they rarely have stock for the S2000. Not sure what they cost at this time. They have never had them when we needed them by yesterday.

Arrow Precision from the UK makes rods in 6AL-4V Titanium. The best in the business.

Things to consider are the beam design and weight amongst other nuances...

There are the H-beam, I-beam, A-beam (Carrillo) and the X-beam (Pauter-looks like a +) to consider.

Every manufacturer will claim their rod is superior for strength.

The CP/Pauter combination is a very respectable standard for a boosted F20c/F22c.

I don't believe inline is making their own rods, they are outsourcing them from somewhere.

this was my reply from pauter last may when i had the crazy thought of buying Ti rods. i thought they were maybe double the cost of the regular ones LOL
from pauter:
Current price for a set of 4 rods in titanium is $4720.00 (down from $5400.00) All titanium orders must be prepaid and they take about 12 weeks to manufacture.

Just remember this...if a rod set is $350-400 (eg. Eagle) retail, imagine what they cost to make for the distributor to make anything on them.

Think of it like running high quality forged Volk Wheels vs low end cast wheels like Rota.

I have seen these overseas rods bend, and even worse, fail as they snap and exit out the side of the block.

The reason why I would go with Ti Con Rods would be for weight savings on the rotating assembly. The added strength would just be a bonus. smile.gif

But the price.....Ohmyjezusssss... LOL, I'm thinking that I woun't be at that level of competition for another 5 or so years, so I'll try contacting Pauter with a sponsorship proposal at that time.

Until then, I'll be looking into either the Manley (Turbo Tough) or Pauter (X-Beam Design), since nobody has any complaints with these guys so far. Quality/reliability speaks for itself. InlinePRO........maybe not. biggrin.gif

But you need to understand that Ti rods stress cycle differently than Cro-Moly.
