Where's it say the GN has stock suspension? I find it odd that somebody who obviously put a LOT of work into a car would neglect the suspension.

Huh, never heard of such a thing, interesting. I did some searching and found this:

It means factory suspension layout instead of converting to a dedicated (i.e. ladder) drag suspension. Obviously, the parts are upgraded, but the factory layout is retained.

The significance is that it is a sanctioned, recognized class of racing (i.e. like 10.5" outlaw tire class, dot drag radial class, etc.) not some obscure made-up classification to make oneself look really fast on the internet (i.e. like "fastest manual z28 with a pine tree air freshener, yo!" Ppl who choose to sink this kind of money into a car do so usually do so to race in a semi-pro class of racing - and with that comes rules. Asking why he doesnt tub out the rear so that he can run faster is like asking why maclaren doesnt bolt on a turbo to their f1 car - against the rules!

Must have LT1 based engine. Heads must retain the factor 23° valve angle (no converted SBC heads). Only stock intakes allowed. Single stage power adders allowed. Stock PCM only (no aftermarket EFI). Opti-spark distributers only no rear mount allowed. Coil per plug allowed. 10.5 X 27 tire max no W’s. Drag radials permitted. Must have stock style suspension, 4 links or ladder bars not allowed. Mini tubbing NOT allowed. Wheelie bars not allowed. No back half cars. Must have full interior including both front seats (rear seats may be removed). Must have mufflers. Any OEM transmission allowed. Must have factory glass (no Lexan…etc). Must have working lights, wipers, and horn. Must have current tags. Car and driver must meet NHRA/IHRA certification requirements for the times the car is running. Minimum weight limit 3400 lbs.
