If you think we want to donate money to you to test a generic header on a modified car....think again.

I'm going to have to agree.
Instead of "testing" something with others' money, buy something that you know works with your own. I'm not saying this to be an asshole, but I highly doubt that anyone will donate their money for a "test". -------------------- GReddy Ti-C Single Exhaust Berk Technology Test Pipe RMF Race Header 224whp & 149ft lbs. Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought this header IS a replica of a well known brand known to make good power on the S.

If it is a replica, then it should be cheap. Why not just buy it, test it, and if it doesn't work out, sell it.

it is a replica and it is cheap. i think they replicated a Js and its going for about $600 iirc, which is below average in terms of price imo. --------------------

your kidding right? i saw this header like a year ago. Don't waste your own time and money as well as others. the most you might make off any efficient header is 5-8hp. (dyno dynamics)
Maybe if you brought this up..lets say... 9 years ago when the s2000 came out you might have some people who would donate. this is almost like a scam to make money off the s2000 community to test out an ebay header -------------------- __________________________________________________ FR GT35R 653.6whp Dynamics @ 30lbs 540whp @ 19lbs ![]() ![]()

The header has been out quite a bit longer but didn't appear in the vendor FS section until a couple months back. I bought this header locally after seeing it listed on ebay. There is a second dyno which was done by Batlground Performance here in metro Atlanta. I think they run a dynopak...
http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=723490&hl= There is a link to the ebay header in this thread which has the 2nd set of dyno results. Agreed that you won't see much power out of this mod w/ an NA setup. I'm hoping it is worth it when I go SC'd. -------------------- 17" 5Zigen FN01RC : Greddy Ti-C Single : Invidia 70mm TP : PLM Header : K&N Drop-In Filter : AP2 retainers : AP2 banjo bolts : SoS Braided CMC Line : Honda Ti Shift Knob : Robbins Canvas/Glass Top : AEM Uego : SoS Dual Gauge Pod : GTM CF Exhaust Cap :

Different dyno results, so something is up. One shows loss in the lower band and the ebay dyno posting (battleground) shows gains right through and consistently.

could supporting mods make that much of a difference? agreed that the batlground dyno looks a bit too smooth and consistent. seems like gains on our car are either mid or high, but not both.
Worst-case scenario I paid $350 for a little bling. If it looks like the other TiNi headers I've seen then its $ well spent. |

Lmao, I just bought one of these myself, if i want to dyno it, ill spend the $60.00 and do 3 pulls, then do another 3 with a stock header and see if anything changed, even if i only donated $5.00 to you, its principal. Go get a job and pay for it yourself.

butt dyno??? Seriously, when will it end.... If you have an 00-01 you are better off doing the 02-03 ECU swap or getting a good tune. --------------------

^ agreed... mods that feel fast are pointless unless they are actually fast. I truely hate the words butt dyno since the moment ive heard them and became accustomed to hearing them but still sends shivers down my spine to listen to someone say that.

I use that term and don't think I've ever meant it literally. Seems like a trivial thing to concern yourself with. BTW, I'd rather have the Giles EMU if I were staying NA...

I just did the 02-03 ECU upgrade. Never had it dyno'd before or after. But it did drive better and got better MPG. Had a hookup at honda that did the reprograming for free. |
