Come check out this sound from my car and let me know what you think.
I think that the guys at the Honda dealership who insisted that my problem was a tranny (precipitating a transmission swap) were dead wrong (as the sound is still there). Anyone find this sound familiar? It happens when coasting (in neutral, or in higher gears like 3 or 4 around 30mph). This sound file is running up to 30 mph and then coasting down to a near stop in neutral. If I turn to the left, the sound goes away. It sticks around when turning to the right. At least I now have an AP2 tranny in my AP1.. and probably a perfectly good AP1 tranny as well... Thanks in advance for the help, guys. -Matt -------------------- rrr. |

it sounds like wheel bearing failure... did u retorque the hubnuts on the rear to the new spec? see if that helps before replacing wheel bearings

So you don't hear it when you're accelerating? Do you hear it if you coast/decelerate in gear?

I hear it when decelerating in gear, but not as severely.

Thats not your diff I agree it sounds like a wheel bearing. When your diff is on its way out the sound is more of a grinding noise. Guess how I know

Sounds like your wheel bearing to me. I just replaced mine a couple weeks ago because it had the same sound.
