I only disagree with the CTS-V and Magnum. Not likely to ever be classics to me.

Bad list. No Challenger. Even magazines that place it well behind the Camaro and Mustang on performance are still buying one for the long term fleet on charisma alone. I guarantee the Challenger will be a classic. Guarandamntee it.

I think they will be classics, as examples of the last of the "oil-price is no object" muscle cars.

You mean, as examples of the last of the latest line of "oil price is no object" muscle cars. Because we've all seen the cost of oil impact car design before. And yet, here we are yet again.

And I think it would be foolish to suggest we'll never be here yet one more time smile.gif

I was like cool, cool, cool, cool, PRIUS?!?!

After I got off the ground and cleaned up my drink, I rmember what Jay Leno said about future classics; cars that people 30 years from now will remember having good times in, and the prius is a car for a distinct generation of car lovers (notice I didn't say enthusiast, lol). And people will remember how the prius was the first of its kind, remember the gimmicky display, etc etc. Also note that Escalades and Navis may be the future Impalas and thunderbirds.

Another dumb list. I disagree with all the cars that have 4 doors. I also disagree with the S2000. The others are relatively limited edition cars (yes so is the S2000 but it wasn't overly expensive) so I see them simply being garage queens. The list of classics I would be more interested in are the cars like the old Roadrunners and Chargers which were often ignored 10 years after they were built but now 40 years later are classics. I think the Z8 will be a classic in part because it didn't make as big a splash as the supercars on the list. It was unique and I think it sold below expectation.

I will guess the Solstice Coupe will be a future classic because it really is a very rare car. It's production numbers were exceeded even the likes of Ferrari.

Really, it will be hard to say what will be a future classic but I think that list was just some random list of "cars I like".

look at what ths clown wrote

"AND . . . one of the lesser Corvettes (2009) was not a Corvette year; AND a sad little Honda??? You guys haven't a clue nor a clue bag to put your clues in!!!"

a lot of hate for the S2000, some good guys defending it, but people are nuts, can't deny the S2000 was a engineering marvel at the time, and pretty to look at too

They considered the Prius a classic because it was the first hybrid to successfully break into the mainstream market. More celebrities have owned the Prius than most of those cars. lol.gif

I think some of you are confusing classics with collectibles. A car does not have to be rare to be a classic, it just has to have some cult appeal and stand out in it's generation. A mint VW Beetle is unquestionably a dlassic car, even though they made millions of them, which means its value as a collector's car exactly dick.

On that note, I think the S2000 as a whole is a future classic, if not an instant classic.

I think the early s2k (00-03) will be more desirable than the CR model. The 9000 redline and the hp to displacement ratio are two aspects that are very unique. As far as the Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro, ........ they are retros. The original cars they are modeled from are classics so I really don't think they would qualify. I would like to hope that my C6 Z06 I will be somewhat in demand years down the road

i will disagree with all of you, and agree with the magnum...

30 years from now when station wagons are finally 100% phased out, the magnum srt 425 hp monster will become a car that poeple will say " oh hey look at that sharp classic! i remember those back in the day"

...why? because as ugly as it is, people will remember it well

The Z8 definitely belongs on that list...the Prius does not. That car looks like pure sex and I'm betting you haven't ever driven one or I doubt you'd be saying that. I wouldn't have been upset to see an E39 M5 or an E46M3 on that list and I think the Z8 definitely slots above both of those. It seems they were fairly random with the list...Carrera GT...Prius...Dodge Magnum...really?
