Default Hyundai's CR-Z destroyer?

Quite possibly! I see it being cheaper, faster, more practical(2+2), better warranty, and possibly better looking. The range topping engine will likely be a turbo.

Hyundai's CEO statements:

"It'll be powered by a 1.6-liter four cylinder with direct injection making 140 hp. And it'll get over 40 mpg,"

It will be a small car. Smaller, in fact, than the Kia Forte Koupe. "It's Accent-sized," according to Krafcik. "Think of it like a four-passenger Honda CRX," he said. "It'll be a little car you can take out and wring its neck and still get good mileage. Fun and economical, with a great power-to-weight ratio."

"There's just nothing out there right now with that kind of Eco-sport positioning." And there will be a standard screen in the dash for a high cool factor. "Screens are getting cheaper," Krafcik told us.

Krafcik said the car will look 70-80 percent like the Veloster and will pack a surprise body style that will be a segment first. One look at the C-shaped backlight/sunroof on the concept (there's a rear shot after the jump) might be a good guess, but Krafcik would only say this: "It might be doors or a unique roof or something with the hatch. But it won't be like anything out there before in the small car segment."

I see Dodge Nitro fender flares in the concept.

Krafcik does make me curious about what will be the industry-first design feature.

Better than the CR-Z, for sure.

The specs of a non-hybrid engine and possible turbo with 40mpg already sounds more appealing than the CR-Z. Only other thing to look at is weight.
