Help with 4# cylinder on 02 version of the S
HI Guys
Well as you all probably know the 4# cylinder on the 00 and the 01 version had some bad problems . Now my dad has got a 02 and he asked the dealer if there was still this problem of the 4# cylinder . The dealer of course said yes it has been solved BUT is this true .
Well if any one could reply to this I would be grateful and IF the 4# cylinder still has a problem how do we stop the spark plug from embedding in to it ??????? as I have seen on many pictures on this site where the cylinder has been destroyed.
As I am only 16 too please can you explain to me as simply as you can.

Yes I have read the forum...its like a horror story... but, there really isn't any language about the symptoms......its too bad no one recorded their bad engine noise.....

Theory on scoring of #4.
1 honda suggests keeping in the break in oil for (if my memory serves me correct) 7 thousand miles?
2 Revlimiter is set to shut fuel at 9500 rpm. I think runing that lean at 9500 is a problem (even if only for 1/10 of a second 950 strokes). They should have ignition shut off.
3 I think the design of the manifold may cause a problem with fuel air ratio. #4 is the last to get it's air. so at high RPM's 1,2,3 have already taken their gulp. Possible vaccuum? Also air heats up all the way through the manifold making it less dense, leading to impropper A/F ratio.
The other reason I think it's more A/F than oil (although it may be a mix of the 2) I have yet to see anyone state they had FI on the car and the #4 problem... Honda also "fixed" the problem, but they are still having the problem. Just something to think of..
