Default Greetings from Colorado

Hello,
After securing a deal on an '03 with a deposit today I figured tonight might be a great time to register and say hello.
Had to find a new car for my wife recently due to the upcoming buyback of our TDI VW. Stumbled across a black S2k in the process and decided to learn more about it. I was familiar with it in the past but I never really saw myself as a convertible guy and I never really looked at one up close.

I've driven a lot of cars over the last year or so because I was planning to get a daily driver in the spring and I wanted to take the opportunity to get to know my options. Problem is, everything current is so damn technically complicated these days and it makes it hard for me to really respect or assimilate to any of it. My dd for the last 6 years is an FJ Cruiser, if that tells you anything..

I never really had much love for Honda FWD cars in the past because I was primarily a Euro tool and Hondas just struck me as too smooth and predictable to be much fun. That changed once I researched the S2k closely and learned what it is, and how to drive it for an accurate experience.

It's gonna be a few more days before the funds are available to take delivery but now that I know what I'm getting into, I can't friggin wait!, I'm in black/black which would not be my first choice but the condition, low mileage and immediate availability made it a no-brainer. I look forward to being an active member here and thank you in advance for the great resource you have pull together here, over the years.

Cheers,
DK

Picked up the car a week ago and have been enjoying it when the roads are clear enough for the summer tires that are currently on it. Had to dismantle the dome light to clean up the contact points so it would work consistently and I rigged up a water bottle holder for the interior so I would have a good place for that. Inflated the spare and added a can of Fix a flat for a little more insurance so I should be good for a quick trip to ABQ this week. Looking forward to seening how it handles that.

Ding on the driver door is the biggest issue on deck for repair.
Probably my favorite angle for the S2k..
..besides this one!

BTW, sorry about the oversize photos, Don't see an option to edit. Perhaps because I'm a newbie?
