No bar is "sanctioned" by SCCA, however, this bar does not meet SCCA's minimum specifications. That does not mean that it doesn't suffice for other organizations.

Nice write up, good to see you posted this. I remember you telling me about this process when we met at fusion awhile back. Now I can finally install my bar this weekend, thanks!

Chris: Nice write-up; thanks for that. In your last picture, are your seats as far back as they will go? If not, how far are the backs of the seats away from the rear wall of the car? I'm just worried about losing too much legroom. Thanks for any help you can give me. Jim

In the last picture, the passenger seat is pretty much as far back as it can go, the driver seat is forward b/c i'm short...5'6". =P

But of course you can gain a little legroom depending on how straight the seat back is. Let me know if there is anything specific you want me to measure.

Well, I was just wondering because I'm 6'4 and while I fit fine now, I need all the room I can get. I have the seatback straight up already. What size is the tubing on the cage? I would assume that I would have to push the seats forward at least that much, correct? Jim

the tubing is maybe 40-50mm? that's a complete guess. but do you need the harness bar? if you are just getting the roll bar w/o the harness bar, you can have full seat functionality.

Yeah, I would need the harness bar at some point, unless I can use the stock seatbelts with Bride buckets. This cage stuff is all new to me so I need all the help I can get
