Default Immobilizer Key duplicate programmed

Anyone know of a good place in the DC Metro area to get it done?

Rosenthal Honda of Tysons C. were the biggest jerks. Wanted $20 for cutting a blank then told me I'd need 1 hour labor to program key on their "special machine" at $80 per hour total $99.

Ourisman Honda of Bethesda wanted $65 programmed.

JCH Gaithersburg MD wanted $40 programmed.

Bill Page Honda Annandale seems to be the most reasonable at $40 programmed for the first dup and $30 for each thereafter.

I've been calling around and was wondering if there are any other places to check. Thanks

Amanda no longer works a Rosenthal. Immobilizer keys are 30-40 bucks alone without programming just to let you know. If you get a T5 blank cut they should program it for free....if its a regular non T5 blank then they do have to use the PGM tester to program it and thats why they charge an hour to do so.

JDM blanks have no immobilizer therefore you have to cut the resister chip out your old key, then open up the JDM key, glue it in there and then button it all back up!

I went back to Rosenthal to get a blank cut so that a friend of mine at another dealership could program it (his dealership was out of the T5 blanks).

Lo and behold Juan Ramon Sorto in the parts depts at Rosenthal surprised me by including the program gratis. He did it himself to bypass the service jerks who wanted another $80 bucks tacked on and told me I'd need to wait at least an hour for the tedious programming job (Ramon did it in less than 5min).

So if you need a spare key done speak only to Ramon and nicely ask him to program it.

Total cost: $18.97 (tax included)
