Is anyone familiar with Mechanics Hall in Worcester? I nee to go there for a function in a week or so and I would love to take my car as it would be a good drive, but I don't know how nice of an area it is in. Anyone here have any advice about leaving their S in parking areas in that general vicinity? Any help is greatly appreciated.

there is a parking lot across the street and behind the building.
it's downtown Worcester on main st so probably not ideal. certainly wouldn't be my first choice to leave my car but I've parked nicer there so ....

yep.....nice parking garage there map quest to 446 main st....

just up pleasant st is a nice garage.

not a bad area at all.....I park there all the time.....

My husband works right around the corner in Worcester and his company has had many functions at Mechanic's Hall. The area is OK but not the best. Parking can get extremely tight. Wouldn't be his choice to drive an S and leave it. (Not that he has one to drive! )

Is it a day or evening event?

It is an evening event. I think it runs from 5:00pm-maybe 9:00pm.

Jim said parking might be a little better seeing it's an evening event. The area isn't "too bad" - be sure that you don't leave anything of value in plain view in the car. Many cars haven been broken into at his workplace and items stolen.

My cousin had her wedding reception there. IIRC it's near the Centrum and not too bad of an area.

The centrun is labout a block away. There's a shoppong center right nearby, too, with indoor parking. I attended a montky meeting in downtown Worcester for about 10 years, parked in an outside lot with minimal lighting and never had a problem. I was driving a CRx Si for part of the time.
