True monetary appreciation will likely only affect a small (5%?) of all S2000s. You have to figure in inflation, storage costs, insurance and almost never driving it.

The true value of my S2000 appreciates a small amount every time I start it and rises 10% every time it enters the track with me driving it.

In the end the highest value S2000s will be a 2000 stock S2000 with hardly any miles followed by a similar condition 2009 model. The first and the last model.
In collector world stock is king.

I agree with you...but in this case, you would have to include the CR in there as well. The 1st model ever made, the last model ever made...and the "best" model ever made.

When I was looking to buy one, part of the reason I took my time to find one with relatively low-mileage, was for resale value. I figured I could enjoy it a little and in a year or so, if I got bored, sell it and either break-even or just take a slight hit.

That was before I realized that I love this f*cking car more than any other car I've ever owned and I will probably never get rid of it. No matter what car I have parked in my garage in the future, it will always have the s2000 parked next to it.

Yes "special" and/or limited edition models of vehicles have a premium value.

This is crazy. S2000s are way over priced! IMO
