Default State inspection and LS1 swaps

Hi all,

I haven't been on here in some time and I'm glad the forum is still going strong. I'm in the market for another S2K. This time I'm leaning towards an LS1 swapped car. What experience have you guys or people you know had with trying to get a swapped motor car to pass the state inspection in NJ. I can't wait to start seeing more S cars on the roads now that it's getting warmer. Thanks in advance everyone.

Why bother. Just get a vette. A corvette motor in an s2000 makes for a crappy handling s2000. Id save the money and get a penile extension surgery

My understanding is that it only adds 100lbs. and 3 inches.

passing state inspection with a swap like that isn't going to be easy. you would need to pay someone off, if even possible. because theirs no way to legitimately pass.

as for ls swaps the big thing I don't like is how far forward the center of the motor is over the front suspension. even if the car weighs the same the balance is off

For you to pass Nys inspection the donor engine must be same year or newer than the car it's going into. And must retain obdII functionality. (I'm a nys inspector)

easy, if you have a guy that will look the other way. AND if your engine management outputs odb2. Most aftermarket ecus just output all ready codes are good even if they are not.

wrong. how do u pass the second year by going through the dmv system ?
u need fully compatible obd 2 with matching vin number n all sensors complete.

Take the engine harness and gut it, take the LS harness and gut it, Keep what's needed to run all sensors, put it into a milspec harness, flash GM ecu and run S2000 ecu with it.

See my previous post about how it can be done, just needs to be done right.
