Default October 28th - Palmer Motorsports Park

Hi all, I've recently registered for the October 28th full open lapping day at Palmer Motorsports Park. You can find more about lapping day here, https://www.palmermo....aspx?id=div6_0It will be my first time at this track so I would not be able to field your questions. However, in the interest of getting more of us to join and have fun, please post your questions and I will try my best to send them to the track organizer, David Connelly.

During the process of my registration, I've asked for a group discount. My brain must have turned to mush. I thought I had driven the S at Palmer, but after consulting the video library, apparently not.

I will say that from the 15th of OCT on into Nov anything can happen at Palmer weather wise. During the Patroon BMW event last year on or about Oct 15-16-17 it was below freezing and snowed. It was so cold that the guys with R-comp and performance tires were told to stay off the track.

That said, it could be 83 degrees like it was one year in Nov when I went to LRP.

I am planning on doing the 9/30 event this Friday and although the weather does not look all that great it won't be snow !!. It will most likely be my last track day at Palmer as I plan to skip the later events with BMW.

I forgot to mention that I did the lapping day back in Sept on 9/3 and I had one of the best track days all year.
Low traffic, 5 hrs of track time (I ran outa fuel) and only 13 students in the novice run group.

Yeah, 70 degrees and free pizza at lunch....thats my kinda track day.

Why is David Connelly running the Palmer events

His Northeast Track Days organization is running their last event of the season at Palmer on 10/18 that I will be attending.

Unfortunately 10/28 is a bit too late in the season for me. I plan to be prepping the car for storage around that time. Hope you get a good turnout OP and enjoy Palmer. It is an excellent track along the lines of our other great NE tracks.

Thats right. I think you've only ever been there in the MG.

I did some solo outings at Palmer once with SCDA and once with NTD. Then I did the NASA events there as well.

That was my initial concern also with the weather. But I couldn't schedule another day off at work in September for the final track day. I'm hoping the weather is at least/hovers around mid 50s and DRY.

I had canceled out of another event registration for another date in October and someone emailed me told me my email reply would be handled by David. So I've been conversing with him since. I've never been to Palmer and I'm not familiar with the different groups and its organizers. Since he's been replying to me and is able to provide group discount for the 10/28 event, I assume he's the right person to be talking to.
