That's a different school bus. That guys father had raced the car back in the day and the car had been sitting in a field for years. The son resurrected the car a few years ago - maybe the 2014 Historic Festival was it's maiden run. .

The black one that I was chasing and that grey one decided to duke it out at Thompson in 2015. Both showed up with Hoosier racing tires - banned in the VSCCA as too sticky. The black one flipped over in the second hairpin turn and will never see a race track again. Shaun H., the driver, was pretty badly hurt. I saw him from a distance late last year and he looked like he had really aged. All of his remaining cars went up for sale and some have sold. Not sure about a few.

I really don't think the car I bought will make it as a race car. Would be too much work. But perhaps a spot in the Volvo car corral at the Historic Festival concourse on Labor Day Sunday.

Been snowing at a pretty good clip here all day, plow just went by for the 2nd time.....Guess I'll go clear off the deck and driveway....only got about 2 or so inches but I'm sure it's of the heavy variety as it's 31.

Aargh!

I'm heading up to L.P tomorrow with the trailer after the Albany meet. I hope I can get in as I have't had anything plowed all winter.

I'm sure there is still plenty of snow left from last week's storm as it hasn't melted much in the shaded areas and if memory serves me you have plenty of trees there. Good luck, bring your snowblower on the trailer!

No, not this weekend. Susan wanted me to move some beds to LP, and I wanted to load up on a dozen or so 6x6x12s. Those are too big and too heavy to fool around with without a trailer. I'd hate to take the snowblower, but maybe that is good advice. Thanks Levi.

It looks it's changed to rain down south in essex county, depending on how soon it cools (lows tonite about 25) will tell how much solid stuff falls there. Still snowing here, 2-4" more may fall. If you have a big driveway to clear the snowthrower will come in handy as what is on the ground has settled and is heavy as all get out. Nancy can run the snowblower while you shovel! You'll both sleep well Sat. nite......Better to bring it and not need it than not and be sorry. Plow just went by for 3rd time here

Whoa! You weren't kidding Levi.

After getting snagged for dinner at Susan's, we arrived at camp around 10:00 p.m. Pitch dark. Tons of snow, plus the piles of heavy stuff on the edges from the neighbors plow. No way to get in with the car! We walked in though 12 to 18 inches of snow, crusted on top, about 20 degrees, with 4 or 5 stops to catch our breath. Camp cold and frozen. Had to dig out the exhaust for the Monitor kerosene heater which lay under a 3 foot drift. Got that fired up, plus a small space heater, plus a fire in the wood stove. Glass of wine and went to bed. Pretty much froze all night. Camp about 60 in the a.m. Headed out to try to fire up the snowblower. It took forever to fire up. Maybe was 15 degrees. I must have pulled more that a hundred times. Finally caught and I backed it off of the trailer. Then spent about 2 hours blowing snow. Not so easy unless I was at the slowest wheel speed. I'd say I did about 80 percent of the drive into the camp and 10 percent of the drive to the garage. No way I could safely back the trailer down to the garage (worried I couldn't get back out), so cleared a space where I could drop my load of wood. Carried a couple of mattresses into the house for planned bunk beds for the little kids.

It is still real winter up there. I couldn't believe it! A few years ago, we were sitting on the dock, having a beer, by late March. This weekend we are still buried in snow. It started to warm up about noon when a front started to move in. As we left the camp around 2:30 it was 40 degrees and starting to drizzle. But by the time we hit the entrance at Exit 30 15 minutes later, it was back down to freezing.

Thanks Levi for suggesting that I bring up the blower. Good call!
