Nice, Ryan. I'd love to help, but I got mine through a coworker's father, who is a diamond wholesaler in NYC. Definitely look at the grading system of diamonds online. Cut, color and clarity are what the price is based on. Make sure it's certified by one of the big companies and get all the paperwork on it. Also, have it appraised by a third party and insured afterwards. You put it on your renters or homeowners insurance policy.

Ray, after all those "don't get married!" comments while working on my car. Really?!? Lol. Congrats.

Ryan, I can recommend you to a friend that I bought a diamond from back in February. He owns a stand in the diamond district and would be able to help you. I crossed shopped against his recommendation with Tiffany and the likes. It's not worth buying brand name unless you really want to spend at least $8-10k more for the same diamond.

Diamond place I found near me seems to have really good pricing! Matched them up against site linked above and seem to be less expensive actually for better cut finish color etc.

They have a 1.49 ct excellent all around si1 I think E color for $7,500. Gia certified.
