Something to think about.....
This was forwarded to me, one of those emails, but it does make you think about your perspective/outlook on life.
Something for us to think about......

I also have the same outlook as Michael. People are always asking me how I can be so happy all the time. It's really very simple as you can see....
Now I need to forward this onto my friends so that maybe they can understand.

As a Christian this should be a very easy attitude to adopt, because God has everything in control and when I leave here I have a better place to go.
As a magician, I've been told that I should dress just a little better than the audience I'll be entertaining. It was put this way: Dress as though, when you leave this party, you'll be going to a better party. I try to live the rest of my life that way, because, in fact, I do have a better party to attend when this one is over.
Thanks for a cogent reminder.

That outlook on life is all good and dandy if your starting in an episode of Full House. I'll take an example of what Michael said. In the real world, YOU don't choose to live or die. You know what does? The distance you fell, what kind of surface you fell onto, body position during impact etc.. Those are the things that DECIDE if you are going to live or die. If it was as easy as choosing, NO ONE would ever die!! You can't always be in a good mood. It's unnatural. If this indeed is a true story. I wouldn't find it surprising if this man had some mental problems. Perhaps to much ceratonin in the brain. Who knows. Life isn't all sugar kisses and lollypops and if you go around having this kind of attitude in life, you are going to be excessively taken advantage of and most likely go no where in life. Unless you think being a good moral person is being successful enough.

However, sometimes getting good and pissed off is the best course of action. See my yesterday thread ""Geo Metro and S2K, the saga continues -- sometines it pays to really vent."

Seems like he and anyone else thinking like this is living in their own little world. It may come off as if I'm angry or mad, but I'm far from it. There are times when you SHOULD be in a bad mood. Michael's whole theory on life goes down the toilet when we start to mention death. Would you expect Micheal to be in a good mood if his whole family died somehow? But yet he says, being in a good mood is as easy as saying "I'm going to be in a good mood".
Also to add. I would probaly also be in a good mood %90 of the time. But things such as school, job, parents and the basic ups and downs in life allow me not to.

Michael also brings in one more step and that is choosing to be an optimist. You can either regret for your whole life that you wrecked the car. On the other hand you can say I love my new car and if I hadn't wrecked my old one I wouldn't have it.

An interesting perspecitive for sure! I don't think it's as easy as this urban legand makes it sound (yea, it's been around a while)...but there is truth to it. Somehow, I am able to apply it to larger problems (death, blown engines, money problems, etc.) but not to small problems (lost my keys, forgot to make a phone call, etc.) where it would be more helpful
I've read that making such a decision when you first wake up, and reflecting on the good of the day when you go to sleep, can make a big difference in attitude. Now, if I could just remember to do those things!
