It can't be THAT bad, but were talking about a 14" ce28. Which I think is pretty fragile as it is.

The issue with power coating is really the temp method employed. The older high temp powdercoats, especially with a cast wheel, could result in metal fatigue and internal fracturing. This resulted in possible cracked/failed wheels, especially in track/high stress environments. Less of an issue with forges, as by nature there are less voids in the metal (hence the overall strength advantage of forging).

Low temp powdercoats are generally safer.

I don't think there is any cosmetic " disaster " with either. Other than maybe difficulty of changing colors vs paint

So I dropped off my wheels to get Podercoated. Im going with this color. Can't wait.

I guess its a black ink color first, then the cady glaze over it? I'm not sure. I just like the color/glow that it has.

Hehe, my S is black, but those wheels are going on my daily, 00 Insight, in silverstone metalic.
