Default My first mod....

Hi all...

It's been a very fun first summer with the toy. I also just put my first mod on the car. I installed an AEM V2 intake. I've noticed the sound difference right away. Much deeper sound under heavy accelaration and overall a lower sound - though at idle it is just noticeable. Not sure about improvements to performance or gas mileage yet time will tell. The only issue is that the engine light is now on because air intake is out of Honda spec. Went to Honda and they reset (no charge) but it came on again this morning. I was told if it really bugs me that I would have to go to someone to have it permantly changed. Not at that point yet but was wondering who that might be. If there are suggestions I would love to get them.

Anyway more mods to come - nothing too crazy - but this firs one was fun.

Cheers....

You crossed a vacuum line I believe, double / triple check those. Everything I Have ever read on here about intakes and check engine was vacuum line OR the sensor not being upright (the one that attaches to the intake box.

A properly installed intake will not cause a check engine light. Definitely check to see if everything is hooked up right.

The AEM V2 should give you around a power bump of around 5-10 hp at 3000 rpm and another bump around 6500 rpm. It should be somewhat noticeable for daily driving, and you should notice less heat bog.

Ok guys I visually checked everything and it all looks properly connected. The one thing that I have noticed is that I can hear especially in the garage is the car aspirating, like hearing it breathing. Could have been doing that all along under all that plastic.

Check all of your connections once more. Check your gas cap. Disconnect the negative terminal of your battery to reset the light.

If it comes on again, then get back to us.

Well if the two vacuum lines are crossed it won't visually look wrong, try crossing them.

Thanks to everyone.... the vacuum hoses were crossed. Reversed them last night, hooked it up to monitor and all is now just fine. Thanks again for the advice.
