Default oem fender molding removal

I just purchased my S2000 and it came with these fender moldings. Did some research and found out that they are OEM optional items.
Anyhow, Im not digging them so Im planning on removing them. Upon a quick visual inspection, it looks like they are just fastened with a double-sided tape.
Am I correct? If not, what is the best way to remove them without damaging the fenders and quarter panels? Thank you.

a heat gun to soften the 3M tape and gently pull. Also a lot of patience when removing anything with 3M tape.

Yup take your time be careful not to stay on one spot to long with the heat. You will likely need some kind of adhesive removed and you will want to wash the car and wax it after doing this to protect the paint.

Do you mind reposting the photo with the fender molding? I just purchased an 03 that has what appears to be an add on piece in front of the rear fenders and I'm hoping to learn about it. Do you know how much the option you speak of cost when new?

Thanks.
