Except the S2000 rotor is thinner, how close are new pads to the rotor on the 28mm rotor?

Also is there any issue with using a helicoil as opposed to a time-cert for this? All of the shops around here only have a helicoil setup and can install them super cheap. Time certs will add $100+ to the machining! The one shop even suggested a helicoil because it will expand with the caliper while the time cert is separate and is a different material.

Helicoil is usually a temporary solution while a timecert is a permanent one. But that being said Helicoil will expand a lot more than a timecert is capable of, but I have never seen a timecert fail in any condition. I would 100% choose a time cert over a helicoil any day of the week.

We'll see though, I wanna make this into a bolt on kit. Makes things a bit more straight forward. Pm me how much it would cost to make those spacers.

Will post pictures of the progress tomorrow! Still trying to figure out if we can get a Timesert for the bolts.

This is a little old but I'm looking to do this on my s, I read all the comments and didn't saw a final number to Mill. From what I understand 3.4mm if i go with the NSX rotor, and I can choose to shave brakes ears or the TL-S calipers. If I decide to shave the calipers the end result of the calipers mounting surface will be around 18mm- 18.3mm base on measurements I read. But what confuse me the first page says to shave 7mm or add 7mm spacer for all 4 options.

Default My TL-S set up

This set up is TL-S Brembos and NSX rotos that I purchase from brake performance, to make it work machine my caliper ears to 17mm and I drill my spindles bigger to make it fit didn't care to go back to factories because my old caliper were junk. To make it rota slipstream 17x8 et48 I need it to add a 15mm spacer and it worked perfect.

Edit: Good news! Racing Brake already carries a rotor made for this application! Its available in the link below. I have updated the first post with this as an option aswell. Enjoy!

Could you indicate the link, the specifications of the disk and if you made any additional modifications?
