Default Fitment Issues Buddy Club Ball Joints

I tried installing the Buddy Club Roll Center adjusters on my 2002 s2000 with stock rims and they wouldn't fit. The bottom of the bolt was hitting the rim so I'm trying to decide how to install them. I haven't read anyone having issues installing these so I was a bit surprised. My car is lowered on d2 coilovers so I was trying to fix the geometry of the car's suspension. Options I've been considering:
40 mm wheel spacers or buying new rims.

Any ideas?

They won't fit with 16 inch rims, I think they even specify that somewhere. It may help if this is moved to the proper section (Suspension & Brakes)

On moddiction's site it says it on the listing for these.

I would opt for the new wheels personally so long as you get quality wheels.
