Loud scraping noise from rear driver side wheel
Hey all,
I was driving today and after 10 miles or so I heard a scraping noise from the cars rear when accelerating from a stop. I pulled over and noticed the rear passenger side wheel was covered in black dust. I drove home and the noise appeared to stop for the most part. I'm thinking my rear pad and now rotor are done, but I'm not sure? Also could be caliper seized? I just had my rear bumper repainted and picked up on Friday...not sure if that could be part of the issue. I was thinking of getting Stoptech Street slotted front and rear brake kit for $326 or should I have the mechanic look at it and only replace the rear passenger brake pads, rotor, and/or caliper?

I think ur pads r stuck. Open up ur caliper and Check ur pads for uneven wear. When the piston pushes the pads onto the rotor the caliper can get stuck in the break position when u have an unlubed caliper or a bad caliper. Check that then u can check ur pins that hold the caliper onto the bracket. These pins need to greased to provide sufficient movement. Very critical. Also u must install the pads correctly. There's the little pins on the pads that must slide into the cross pattern on the piston. Hope this help

brakes are really easy to work on. If you know how to turn a wrench you shouldn't have a problem doing a self inspection. Have a buddy help you if it's your first time.
