Default CR Wheel Color

Hey Guys, I bought a set of CR rims not too long ago. There was a little spot of rash on it, it was really small but over the winter I figured I'd fix it. I bought some Kaiser Silver paint. I believe it was NH-546M. The paint seems to match the wheels pretty well, however there is so much more metal flake in it. I am guessing what the M stands for. Is there a Kaiser Silver and Kaiser Silver Metallic? Do you think I have any chance polish or compounding to make it blend and not as noticeable?

I'm no chemist but I think that's just the nature of metallic (pearly) paints. I remember my touch up bottle for New Imola Orange had the same consistency. Overly loaded with metal flakes. Maybe try to do a super light covering, let it dry and repeat?

See if this site will make you several non metallic spray cans of NH546M (Kaiser Silver), the "M" at the end of the paint code is the metallic content. They do make custom paints, you just might have to buy several cans to justify their time. Good luck.

I wanted to provide an update on this I gave the NH-546M a second shot. The Silver is close but seems to be a shade or two off. I was still having the issue of way too much metal flake, I tried to go extremely light as well.

I went down to NAPA with my CR rims. They had a color book for Honda, I sat there under the lights with my wheel on the counter and tried to come up with the best match. Oddly enough it was an "alternate" for Silverstone Metallic. People always seem to comment the Cr wheels look best and match the Silverstone s2000s.

The paint I got mixed is a perfect match. You have to be within inches to see where I repaired the rash and it would probably have to be pointed out to you. It turned out amazing, I'm so happy, I was getting very frustrated. I am not sure if there was something wrong with the NH-546M paint I got but it's not even close compared to the stuff I got from NAPA. I would be a little weary before trying the Nh-546M paint (someone can have my can if they don't believe me) I wonder if Honda did something different in the painting process or something.

Looks good! Do you happen to have a paint code for the color you used?

I'm not sure if the top label is the paint code, doesn't look like a very traditional one if that is the case.

Paint code is in the FAQ;

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-cr...cr-faq-863751/

What is the color of the "CR silver" wheels?
Answer--> The color is Kaiser silver and the paint code is NH-546M.

It is NOT Silverstone as noted above.

I was surprised to see this thread bumped. This is correct, the factory color is Kaiser not Silverstone. In my experience, I had bought the Kaiser paint NH546M. It had a ton of metal flake in it compared to what the wheel had. It was extremely noticeable, I’m not sure if I got a bad batch but it did not look right at all. Im not sure if this is possible but the wheels are Kaiser Silver but have different amounts of metal flake in them compared to the standard Kaiser from the NSX?
