S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

Beautiful car. Enjoy. I'm glad it is in the hands of someone with your knowledge and resources. I was lucky and found an 02 ap1 with only 8500 sitting in the garage of an eldery widow this summer. I thought my undercarriage looked good. Holy cow that undercarriage on yours looks like it never left the dealer showroom floor.

Interesting comments about the ap2 changes and the parts you are swapping in. Maybe it helps explain my preference for ap1s.

Those two changes make the lion's share of the difference in the "raw feeling" associated with the AP1. With the AP2, I think everyone can appreciate the better rear suspension geometry, and more torque.

Congratulations on the 8,500 miles AP1. If it wasn't for my need to have the "ultimate iteration", or rarity, I would have an AP1. 02/03 are my favorite year S2000s. Let's not forget the CR went back to AP1 steering ratio, and the stiffer suspension went back in the direction of the AP1, which had much stiffer suspension than the standard AP2 (although CR ended up having the stiffest).

Me too. All my search strings are restricted to those two years

I've also been considering an older english sports car. I love those old cars - MGA, AH 3000, Triumph 4A, etc. etc. But, do I have the time and energy to keep them running well? Nope.

S2k to the rescue. It is the perfect fun car for me all things considered. I'm really happy with this car.

What I really want to be doing is getting my pilot's license and flying float planes around the arctic. But, at age 65 that ain't happening. My s2k is my, (much cheaper), alternative to that.

Here is a link to a youtube video of the flight in to a river in the Yukon I enjoyed this past season - heaven on earth!

I think the S2000 is the right call for a fun, light, and most importantly reliable sports car. Flying seems super cool. Never had the motivation to actually go out and learn, but I could see myself wanting to at least try one day. Thank you for sharing.

A few pics of the car at it's long term storage location. Exterior got a little dusty, but it's in much better shape than when I first took possession.

The two CR's, with their older brother. Had to rent some parking at a local secured lot.

Where did you get the detailing job done at?

I won't be driving the car, so not worried about dirt. I don't think it would be an issue regardless.
I'd love to know what the dressing consisted of. I'd love to find someone around my location that has a lift and the ability to detail the under carriage like that. I suspect mine would look pretty similar to yours with a bit of effort. Hard to do at home without a lift.

I use this Boeing Aircraft developed product which protects all metal types from corrosion and adds a nice non oily sheen to bare or painted surfaces.
