Good afternoon all!

I swung by this thread when I went to look at the car and was aware of the salvage status, damage and everything. Ended up buying it and wanted to post an update as the new owner (finally back in an S2000!).

The car has history as follows: First owner loved the car, lots of miles, lots of maintainance. He had it under his care for about 86k miles before selling to the second owner who repainted it and it was written off within a few thousand miles with them. From there it went to auction and was puchased by the person I bought from from and shipped over to the UAE (where I live). They own/operate a car shop and replaced the panels required with OEM and then repainted it to Apex Blue. They didnt drive it much so I just rolled it over 152,000 km's (94k miles). I have had it now for a month or so and it's a very solid drivers car. I got it aligned and have a list of about a dozen small items to fix up before shes back to top shape. Most importantly there is no damage to the structure or frame after a full inspection and everthing mechanically is running perfectly, been very happy with the car. Always wanted an OEM hardtop too and it's just a delight. I see why everyone raves about them online now, it's just a coupe with it on!

On my list of fixes to start with are a shifter rebuild, original shift knob, engine mounts, steering wheel (or reuphostery), a few minor paint fixes and some engine bay clean-up.

Question for you all: With the damaged-beyond-repair leather on the steering wheel, is there any OEM replacement cover to reupholster the wheel? Otherwise I might replace with a Momo for now, as I go to the track quite often.

I used to own a S2K in Canada and sold it to move to the UAE, I'm so happy to be back in one! And a CR, honestly a dream car of mine... Canada also allows rebuilt/salvage car import if it's over 15 years old so good chance it will return to North America again some day.

I wonder how percent of the CR's are daily drivers and how many are more collector cars these days.

Thanks for sharing. Great to see the restoration and someone not being afraid to own and enjoy it! Glad to see it didn't end up as scraps.

Great to see this CR brought back life and being driven. Looks like it has a bright future ahead. Euro Boutique has a few steering wheel options. https://euroboutique.us/collections/...g-wheels/s2000
