Rebuild CR shocks
I have coilovers that suck. I had old CR shocks that were great. However the CRs are old and need to be rebuilt, if possible, I understand that the strut can b replaced in the CRs. What would b a great strut to use on these. Thank you for your replies

I have Godspeed. I also have CR shocks. I suspect I need to change the strut and wonder about changing the springs too.
The previous owner put the CRs on and they were amazing. I thought I wanted my car lower but I don't see the advantage for me.
I like to ride in the canyon, mountains and simply the street.
I have the CRs and want info on the best strut to rebuild with and how long the springs remain active enough to keep instead of change.
Buy. I know nothing about this components, but the CRs are more sure footed

are you asking about Koni+CR spring set up? usually, Springs are OK if it was used in normal operating range. - meaning it wasn't operating in too compressed shape. if you have complete CR strut (meaning shock + Spring though it's not exact), you only need Koni Shocks. from CR "Strut", move springs and top hat assembly to new shocks.

Brand new CR shocks are like $850.
Even if they were rebuildable, the rebuild would likely cost close to that.
Just buy new ones from bernardiparts.com or a similar site. Put the springs and components from your existing CR shocks on the new ones, if youre decided on CR shocks.
I think you have a sour taste from those GODAWFUL coilovers. There are many quality coilovers available from $1K. Bilstein PSS/PSS9, for example. Koni yellows would also pair just fine with CR springs....but they will not feel like CR shocks (neither will Bilsteins). Either the Bilstein coilovers or Koni yellows paired with CR springs will ride more comfortably than the CR suspension, and should make the car more easily driveable.
Koni and Bilsteins are also both rebuildable. So if they ever wear out, that is an available option. They can also be upgraded in terms of valving, etc.
