I will be running a smaller pulley (4'') on my Comptech kit with stock injectors. I have spoke with junky in another thread that I will be using the black box and getting a full dyno tune with it.

Junky question... will I be safe with that? I don't wanna risk my motor

Are you referring to the ACM unit when you say "black box"? If so that's what I'll be using, it's the piggy back that comes with CT-E's SC. Apparently there's a way to make adjustments using CT-E's ACM. I'd like to know how everything turns out for you. I'll keep you guys posted once I get my pulley upgrade as well.

I forget, are you running an F20 or F22?

I wonder if a e-manage would help when pushing the limit with the rrfpr??

My guess is adding a little injector duty when fuel adjustment are near max on the rrfpr should do it ?? And be carb legal

A local friend/member tried that combo and it didn't work reliably. He was experiencing problems anytime he tried to add more injector duty with the added pressure. Apparently the combination didn't work well with stock injectors, they just couldn't handle the combination of a high rising rate pressure with more duty. Now, when I was running 18psi/450whp with my Supercharger I was using the Emanage, but with ID 1000cc injectors. There is little point in sticking with stock injectors if your going to move into the fuss of a programmable ECU. Its the piggy back ecu that makes it technically smog compliant, not the injector size. So at 450whp I was still passing smog, because I still retained the oem ecu for obd2.

I didn't get much luck with the emanage and the Id 1000. I remember getting a base map from somebody here for it ( cant remember exactly who ) and some help from you a few years back.

My tuner didn't want to tune 1000 with the setting at 660 like he should have. So we couldn't get the ltft and stft to stabilize. So we forced the ecu to constant open loop and as you know it didn't like it.

Ended up with an haltech.

Yep, one has to know how to set up and run that unit or it can be finicky for sure. Little to no tuners understand how to do that anymore so i never recommend picking one up, even though they could be a solid option for someone in the know. It worked beautifully with my bonkers water/meth injected high powered set up for several years. I did eventually start getting an intermittent cork with it though which I couldn't isolate and with much frustration along with other things related to the boost game, expense drivetrain failures etc, ended up getting rid of everything and just going back to naturally aspirated with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and NEO for reliable and simple tuning for street/track duty and my sanity. Ive come full circle. All this talk about base Supercharging with some added boost/trickery brings back a lot of memories for me when I was doing/exploring all this 10 years ago. Kind of makes me want another kit again. But as it did then, I know how fast the temptation for more boost sets in and I cant go down that road again anytime soon as much as I miss it. A base supercharger basically is just enough to wet your pallet for more. Its faster, but just enough to tease you. It takes a special person with a lot of restraint to keep it at base pressure. But some guys do. There is 2-3 OG in my neck of the woods that are still running on the original 5.5psi comptech with well over 100k miles on it. 1 of them I know tracks it.

I have a Vortech V2 on my AP1 F20 with a 4" pulley. Might be 4.25". It has the supplied 5th injector installed and seems to run rich. Is it safe to stay with that 5th injector or should I rather upgrade the stock injectors and remove the 5th altogether?
