Default Can an oil cooler effect oil pressure? Low(er) oil pressure issue

I recently switched my oil cooler setup. I ditched my Setrab oil cooler in favor of the Jackson Racing radiator/oil cooler combo, now I'm seeing lower oil pressure than before.

Cold start oil pressure is ~60psi
Warm idle pressure is 18-22psi
Both of those readings seem normal/good to me. Where I'm seeing a difference is cruising and under load oil pressure

Cruising oil pressure 60-75psi
Under load/Vtec crossover ~40psi

With the Setrab setup I was seeing 80-95psi cruising

So my big question is....can switching from a bar and plate cooler to a flow thru cooler lower my oil pressure?
On the plus side, my oil temps are staying lower/more consistant

Did you change the location of the your sensor in the process??

I did not, sensor was untouched in the swap.

design has a lot to do with it. I had a cheap 19 row and china sandwich plate thad low pressure. switched to a 25 row setrab with a mishimoto tstat sandwich plate and gained a bit of pressure but I has sense changed the relief pressure the oil pump and I have 15psi hot idle 80+ above 3k rpm 70-80 in vtec. before it would drop to 55 psi in vtec and cursing was 65 psi. I have noticed that superchargers seem to lower pressure more than a turbo I guess due to the larger restrictor on the blower then add the volume of a cooler and you loose pressure. having minimal turns large lines and a good flowing cooler help to minimize the pressure drop I just compensated for it as I ran the car without the blower and cooler then shimmed the pump till I got that back at least in the upper rpm range. I have replaced the rod bearings and it had no effect on pressure. I did it because I was in there and could plus the car had a motor swap before I got it so it was piece of mind.

It's more consistent because it's pretty much doing what the OEM sandwich plate does. They both dissipate into each other (whichever being colder) and help to keep regulated etc. probably just more surface area with the JR. Now that my oil n water r separate, it's hard to get my coolant high even spiritly driving hard.
if it is lower temps you would think that would help with increasing pressure. R u running a 30 or 40 weight? I ask because a cheap alternative might be to try a higher viscosity.

Try a 40. U gotta think all these racers (R&D, QA/QC) during testing probably wasn't done on a 30 weight anyways. 30 gets the job done, but is also an economy weight. It will be the cheapest route to try n troubleshoot.

Finally got around to doing some troubleshooting on this issue. I got an oil sample to send out to Blackstone for analysis so will have to wait on them for results.

I bought some -AN female caps, disconnected (and capped) the oil cooler...then bypassed the cooler altogether. So my oil path is just from the sandwich plate to my oil filter relocation kit, then back to sandwich plate.

Initial oil pressure findings:
Cold start - ~90-95psi
Warm idle (after driving)- ~22-26psi
Under heavy load - ~90-100psi
My passenger did see it hit 105psi at one point, and only for a split second

So I feel like it's good news...or atleast I feel like my motor doesn't have an oil pressure issue. Now to figure out why the Jackson Racing oil cooler is causing lower pressure readings
