I need someone to break down all the pros and cons to going E85 like how will this affect the life of my motor compared to staying on pump gas. will e85 rust the fuel tank or fuel lines if the car sits without being used for more than a week at a time? or even over night? thank you in advanced

To my knowledge there isn't really any risk/downfall to running E85, so long as the fuel system has been properly upgraded to accommodate for it and the car has been tuned.

Edit: The second part of what you asked, in regards to storage, is addressed in these threads. E85 retains/draws in more moisture than standard gasoline, but as long as you're not storing the car for several weeks at a time without driving you'll be fine.

I store 2 (used to be 3) cars for 6 months in winter with E85 in the tanks. As long as the system is sealed and you top it off, you'll be fine. ID2000's do not like this, especially if moisture gets in, but I also have another buddy that lets his car sit for months at a time with ID2000's and E85. His car is a bit of a freak as he just recently ran a 10.3 @ 131mph on a stock Subaru long block.

The only downfall I've had is that I have to fill up more.

Unless you're trying to drive your car when it's 40* out and you left it sitting outside for 2 days.

I'm making the switch right now. Doing flex setup. So when I store it I can just runs tank of 93 though it and this should keep my id2000s from rusting up.

Question 1: So if i plan on using it every week or 2 on the weekends and just top off the gas with new e85 it should be fine?
Question 2: I will be using ID1000s will that matter?
Question 3: I know that the gas attracts water and that whole thing of the injectors getting moisture sounds like a big problem. I keep my car outside for I don't have a garage for it and is there any extra procedures as to how the system would be completely sealed off?

1. You should be fine. I think I let my STi sit with half a tank last year, although in a garage.
2. ID1000's should be fine. That is what I have in my STi.
3. General items such as a sealing cap, functioning EVAP system with no leaks, etc.

If you have a standard full size battery you might be ok. I have a different car than you guys so it's a little different. On mine a different tooth crank trigger plate helps when running aem to start better. I've started mine fine when it's been 45 but my PC680 has horrible cold crank so if it's sat for a week of coldness it sucks

E85 is probably the best thing there is if you want to make over 400 hp with no worries. If you don't just run 93

I let my evo sit from October-April last year and it was fine. Started right up and had no problems.
My fuel filter in the pump assembly got shitted up tho. I have removed it and now run a fuelab filter. Not sure about s2k

If you store it for winter I would put some 93 in it and run it for a while. The regular gasoline will clear out the lines and other fuel parts.
