Default Science of Speed Turbo Kit Clutch Recommends

hello looking to purchase a new clutch for my street turbo setup sos 3582r turbo. 400 whp 300 tq. Here's where it gets tricky also looking to flex fuel tune with e85 so power should increase to over 500 whp and tq close to 400. Looking for the best setup that will allow the car to be fun to drive during some spirited country road cruising and of course through town (traffic lights are inevitable) no aggressive driving or shifting/downshifting from me. Currently have clutchmasters twin disk which is not enjoyable in first gear and I believe may be harder on axels and driveshaft than I like. Anyone interested in a nice twin disk? Look forward to recomendations!

A twin disc clutch is actually easier on the drivetrain, from what I know, than a single disc.

How many miles on the twin and what are you looking to get out of it?

ok awesome first gear and reverse are just really chatty not sure if that will go away once broke in more (barely drive the car) I would let it go for $1500 less than 500 miles on the clutch

That's normal with a twin disc and nothing to be concerned with. I'll forward the info to my buddy and let you know if he is interested.

The twin disc referred to by foertmeyer uses metallic type friction discs. Regardless of being a multi-plate or single plate, this friction facing is very harsh to drive and tough on the drivetrain due to high dynamic friction (they are very "sticky" when they rub). It is used in less expensive multi-plate clutches because the high thermal capacity of this liner eliminates requiring an expensive ventilated mid plate. The downside is the engagement quality suffers.

We offer two clutches depending on your power goals which I think are a better match:

Sport 400 Hybrid (400 lb/ft of torque at the engine):
A hybrid of organic and cera-metallic that gives very smooth engagement while having a relatively high torque capacity at a reasonable price.

Billet Twin Carbon 700 (700 lb/ft of torque at the engine):
Carbon-carbon material is used which offers a smoother dynamic friction with high static friction for extreme torque requirements. As with all things - there's always a trade off. This clutch is more expensive and the material is will not last as long in a purely street driven environment than say a factory clutch.

Hope that helps! Please drop us a line if you have any questions!
