Some time has passed and I'd love to hear new/updated opinions about KW vs SOS and anything new in the market for that matter. I'm sure between the AP1 and AP2, especially the DBW models, some kits are better suited than others. I myself am more interested in the DBW years, and I have to admit I'm not a fan of how the SOS looks in the engine bay.

Thumbs up

In my opinion if you stay in California I would recommend the CT-E kit. It's CARB legal and you won't have any issues with smog, police, and those random smog stations.

I agree with this ^ get the 1200, polished and polish the after cooler before you throw it. 350whp, looks great and has a carb number.

Iv seen both SOS and Kraftswekrs have many issues and i barley see vortech or comptech on track now a days. But if I'd have to choose I'd go with kraftswerks. The rotorex blower is superior imo. In the past on track iv seen the sos blower shaft breaking causing the fan of the blower to deform and destroy the entire blower. This is a major no no in my books. This was the big boy too the stage 2 kit I belive. I also don't like that sos dosent use intercooller. But this kit is extremely easy to install compared to the other kits. The kraftswerks iv seen the tensioner get loose and this caused for a belt to snap ( the bolt was tread locked too) also its very common to over heat with a Kraftswerks kit but I know overheating is common with FI but kraftswerks is VERY common. But I think i would take a snapped belt over a blown blower. I think u can also make more power with the kraftswerks compaired to the sos kit? Someone correct me plz. I no for a fact the comptech does not make nearly as much power as the kraftswerks.

Btw these kits I experienced where on track only. I have no clue how they would preform on street but they wouldn't be bad I think. And idk about the legal issues you would have to deal with these kits.

Which to me makes it a better choice. but if you want room to expand in the power department then the nod goes to SOS.

The KW kit has had its share of issues early on. My advice would be to have it installed by someone who has done multiple KW kit installs, this is crucial. Torquing, priming of the blower, and belt tension needs to be spot on.

For the SOS to be equal to the KW kit in WHP/TQ you are going to spend a lot more on the SOS kit. Some say you get what you pay for, so its really something to consider. But if you get a solid KW kit and its installed correctly its hard to not give it a shot at the price difference.

agreed bud!
