Supercharger or turbo for track?

Supercharger or turbo for track?
Hi guys. I recently bought a S2000 and I was wondering if throwing on a SC or a turbo would be better for track? I've heard that the Vortech and CT superchargers are smog legal (which is important to me as I live in Cali) which is the reason why I'm leaning more towards superchargers right now. But I'm always open to more opinions.

Gotta do your due diligence and do some research. At the end of the day, its all going to boil down to what suits you and your driving needs. There are too many factors to consider when asking this question. If you want all out power, turbo will get you there. If you want a more broad and predictable torque curve SC is probably the better option. But with the right size turbo, manifold, and supporting mods, you can build a very responsive turbo setup. Either way, it wont be as reliable as n/a. So a lot of maintenance will be required especially if youre tracking it on the regular. A mild to moderate head build will probably save you a lot of trouble down the road. Drivetrain and differential will also take a lot more abuse so get ready to upgrade those components too. But with so many different turbo and sc options available for our car nowadays, you can almost achieve any goal with either setup....basically comes down to preference. GL!

Yeah not trying to build a horsepower beast. I bought the s2k with the intention of tracking it and learning how to take corners better. So my focus has been suspension, brakes, and aero so far.
for supercharger kits, what type of supporting mods are needed?

Learn to drive the car as it is before dumping thousands of dollars on forced induction (or sketchy used parts). A buddy is still fiddling with his (used) supercharger. Hopefully we can get it sorted out this spring.
What tires are on the car? They (and the alignment) define how the car will corner. Too much power applied at the wrong time will flip the rear end out. Some turbochargers seem to switch On when least suspected. Sometimes fun. Sometimes catastrophic.

Keep it NA for starters and spend money on hot handling parts. You will probably have more fun overtaking cars with similar power instead of being put in a faster group and you start breaking stuff.
My opinion Superchargers for tracks and Turbo for everything else.
