blue painters tape, i used the hard edges of the metal of the valve cover to break through the tape, i guess i etched it, heres the finished product, i used sandpaper to finish the park plug cover, the last one is it all masked up b4 paint

Just make sure you get the bungs at the highest point of the valve cover you can. And that the lines and can are mounted as high as possible. This will make it harder for any oil to travel

What did you all use to strip the factory PC off?

Last one I used aircraft stripper and a higher pressure sprayer.

i used kleanstrip paint stripper, from home deopt, most of it was gone in 1 application, i had to do 3 total to get it all off
