yeah, i agree bro. take everything off and do a thorough inspection and pay attention to little details as you remove it. your problem is in there somewhere.

im planning on going with comptech's brand new 1200sl kit in jan. im not looking for big power. just craftsmanship, reliability, and fun. :-)

how much is your kit supposed to put out by the way?

Well I think the tensioner pulley was a little loose somehow as the belt was not going around straight and looked to have started going off from that pulley. Got the belt back on straight, fully tightened the tensioner pulley back down and so far is on straight and vibrations have stopped.
Now the belt is a little messed up still but will hopefully last until I have the time to pull the sc off again and replace the belt.
Still have to do a few pulls and make sure it keeps holding before I think I actually found the issue.

Oh and this kit should put out between 300-320whp from what I have read at stock 7 lbs of boost.

Well I took it for a bit of a drive and felt perfectly fine. Never went over 3 psi or so though since I was in back roads mostly.
I'm Ryan.

Well thought I figured it out but belt was half off again today after taking it for a spin. So gotta pull the whole assembly off and figure out what is going on.

Sorry to rehash an old thread but just curious since I also have a Vortech V2 on my AP1. Did you ever solve your problem and get the belt to stay on?

Yeah I did. One of the pulleys was loose I think. I removed all pulleys and retorqued them down and never had an issue again. I no longer have the car but was going strong for 5 years after this post.

Quick Reply: Vortech sc stock 7 psi. Belt keeps coming off.
