Default Ballade Sports VS RSG Roll bars

Just trying to decide which bar is better overall. The Ballade Sports bar was my initial choice at a cost of roughly $1150 shipped. Its also a 2-piece bar and works with a soft top. However Rockstar Garage just released a bar that looks really similar but is a one piece unit at about $150 cheaper in cost after shipping. I'm just wondering, if one was better than the other and why.

Voted with my wallet and bought the ballade sports one. Also doesn't look like the rockstar one has any places to mount the stock seat belts. If it doesn't, that'll probably be extra cost.

The RSG one requires a second bar for stock belts and it looks like they selling that one for 195 now. Only major difference I see is the harness bar height.

all rsg bars can be used with the factory seat belts. indeed, we recommend the use of the factory seat belt reels while attached to our bulkhead bar... which can be had for $195.. or at a discounted rate of $150 when you purchase both a roll bar and the bh bar together.

all rsg bars main hoops are bent with a true mandrel bend cnc machine. the tubes are filled with a mandrel insert and packed with sand to minimize distortion at the bends thus creating a stronger bar. weve compared our bars to most other competitors bars and found much less distortion at the bend in our bars. the rsg bars are also all made within the rule parameters set by nasa and scca. some competitors bars DO NOT meet the requirements set in the rule book. i would strongly recommend reading the rule book for each particular class you intend to participate in, and choose the proper roll over protection that way.

if anyone has questions regarding our products or what makes ours superior to the other brands, please message us.

Our bar integrates a bulkhead bar and seat belt tabs for proper mounting of OEM seatbelt reels and components with NO EXTRA PURCHASE necessary. Also, our bars have been reduced to $999 SHIPPED and will be offered in different colored powercoat option upon request.

I'm pretty pleased thus far with the Ballade bar. The car definitely feels tighter, plus it looks fantastic and appears to be a quality piece. I'm not racing in any sanctioned events so I can't speak to that, but I do have a question regarding the claims of distortion. How was that measured? Doesn't seem like particularly easy data to gather. Certainly not knocking the rockstar piece, I'm just curious how that info came to be.

Also are there some install guidelines on these?

^Take lots of measurements. Drill small holes first. Then use a uni bit to make the holes desired size. Body saw is what we use to cut the pocket in the wheel well. Cutting into the pocket is pretty much the hardest part.

I just picked up a RSG X bar from a local group buy. It passes both SCCA and NASA requirements, and for the price I couldn't pass it up(not installed yet). That said, I have several Ballade parts on my car and am impressed with everything of theirs so far, and I expect the roll bar would be the same. Passes NASA requirements as well.

Here are the rules and reg for 2017:

Our roll bar passes NASA requirements for any HPDE TT event. For wheel to wheel Honda Challenge, it is expected to have a full cage, which is not what our product is.
