Dual exhaust that is between Tanabe M Touring & Invidia Q300?
#12
Tanabe Medalion Touring behind a 63mm Berk high flow cat will not be mistaken for stock by other S2000 owners. Other guys will just think it sounds right. 94dBA is louder than stock but not stupid loud like the Q300.

Tanabe would be my choice as i had one and loved it with a test pipe and a reflash... but dont expect power from the exhaust... mostly just noise... the test pipe an flash is what was noticeable.
My choices in the $1000 or less club would be:
Tanabe
Fujitsubo
Used Mugen
Greddy Spectrum
HKS

Stick with the HFC, you won't regret it. You get minimal more soot than with the OEM cat, and I think it equates to something like 70-80% of the performance of the TP. The big advantage to th HFC is you don't get the smell and you don't get the heavy soot or fuel staining the hell out of your bumper.

I would go for the Tanabe and matching hfc. My set up is pretty annoyingly loud right now and that is the Greddy SE GoTuning V2 paired with an EVS 70mm HFC. It booms and drones and good lord going up hills makes your ears bleed. On the freeway I have to throttle modulate so it won't drone. Asked GoTuning about this and they suggested to not run a HFC but I have no interest in running a test pipe right now because of emission issues here in WA State. The Tanabe is pretty tame and has no drone from most members writing about it on here.
I would say if you want something more tame go for:
Tanabe Touring Medalion
Fujitsubo Legalis R
HKS Hi-Power
I am in the middle of switching to a Berk 63.5 and Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust setup.
